Lauryncakes Utah Fashion and Beauty Blog – Lauryn blogs about fashion with a dash of beauty and lifestyle at lauryncakes.com. She has been referred to as having an “urban sophisticate” or “boho edge” style. Her fashion role model and inspiration are Stevie Nicks. Lauryn wants to enable women to be their best by being compassionate to one another and themselves.
She noticed this strange phenomenon when she started the blog and was avidly reading other style/fashion blogs (almost two years ago). Bloggers would apologise to their readers for not “writing” enough. Lauryn never wanted to be one of those bloggers, whether that meant writing without extended leaves.

How Lauryncakes Blog Got Started
Lauryn gets queried all the time about how she started her blog and began as a full-time social media influencer, primarily by people looking to get into it as a hobby or for the perks. She tells new people that if you’re looking to start with the mindset of: “what can I get out of this?” then you’re in for a rough road.
Lauryn started blogging in the winter of 2013 (back when I was in college going to school to become a teacher) when she was bedridden because of a talonavicular joint fusion surgery on my foot. During that time, Lauryn was looking for something to keep me occupied during winter break and started blogging about my day-to-day life. As she became increasingly interested in blogging, she wanted to emphasize my writing on fashion and beauty. By reading and following other fashion bloggers, Lauryn learned more about what she wanted her blog to be like. When my foot was well enough to get up and about, she took photos to feature on my blog. Soon after, she started heavily curating my aesthetic and photography.

Lauryn, do you mean to get posts up? Instagram has become more of a priority lately, which I should keep from happening, as my blog is the real showcase! So anyway, I am coming back at you with no promises to keep posts consistent, but with a great love of all clothing and accessories that are gold. Also, I am giving away my number one tip for pear-shaped ladies.
My number one tip for all hourglass-shaped women (wider on top and bottom, narrower in the middle) is to invest in clothing that you can cinch at the waist! It will show off your asset (a killer middle!) and highlight your figure just the right way. I love wrap dresses, a closet staple, so when I saw that wrap tops were becoming popular, I had to try one out! I went for this gold-coloured velvet blouse that is personalised for my measurements on eShakti. I have been on my new fitness journey for the last five months, and it has been a ride! Corey Nielsen, a personal trainer in Salt Lake City, Utah, and I began working together in February. I hadn’t worked out in close to a year, and when I had, it was sporadic at best since my foot surgeries (the last one was in 2013). So, I was out of shape, uncomfortable, and unhealthy.

Ask any stylish woman, and she will tell you that an LWD (little white dress) is just as important as having an LBD (little black dress) in her closet. I have had many white dresses over the years. But I liked none as much as this lace dress from Chicwish!
My friends often ask me about Chicwish after seeing it on my blog, “can I trust them? Are they just another one of those scam foreign clothing sites? Do the sizes run small?” The answer is yes, you can trust them, no, they aren’t a scam, and the sizing runs true to size. I usually buy a size large in dresses to accommodate my big toosh. This time, I ordered this white lace dress in an XL, fearing it would be negligible. Unfortunately, it ended up being too big around my waist on me! The company has its clothing run TTS (true to size) as far as American sizing goes! Their entire site fills with chic, boho, and girly styles you can wear to work or out and about.

It’s that time of year yet again. Do you know when you have to bear it all in a swimsuit?! You understand me. I can feel you cringing through your screen. It’ll be okay, though, you still have time to lose that winter weight, and RAD Swim has some pretty flattering swimwear (both one-pieces and tankinis). So if you’re still feeling a little self-conscious and want some time to transition into showing it all off, they are the place to go! Here is a post I did with RAD Swim before.
This peplum-style swimsuit is a two-piece. Just like a jumpsuit has, it’s a convenience issue, and so do one-piece swimsuits. But that’s just one of the great features of the periwinkle tankini! My other favourite part is the sequin top!
